About The Artist

Jean Lurssen likes to paint atmospheric watercolors, seldom using the local color of the landscape. She continually tries to stretch the boundaries of watercolor - experimenting with different ways to create textures. Her paintings are influenced by the shapes in nature and the beautiful surroundings of Northern California and by her previous experiences living in England, South Africa, and Zimbabwe. She teaches in-depth watercolor classes online as well as short YouTube demonstrations.
